Description:
I. In line with the Executive Yuan's 2030 Bilingual Nation Policy, the Ministry of Education is promoting the new curriculum guidelines for the 12-year basic education, as well as the quality bilingual and international education plan, to strengthen teachers' and students'
English speaking proficiency and experience sharing in international speaking competitions, and to enhance teachers' and students'
academic or professional English language proficiency for participating in international performance competitions.
II. The IVY CUP International Public Speaking Competition is a top international English language competition and forum organized by the International Committee of the Ivy League Universities in the United States. It includes activities such as Talent Show and Convince Me.
Through learning and international exchange driven by competition, it meets the needs of the new curriculum for foreign language proficiency, multicultural literacy, and enriching students' learning portfolio, fostering students' interest in science popularization and English language learning.
III. The Taiwan region of this international public speaking competition is jointly promoted by the Department of Industrial Education (/Technical and Vocational Education Research and Development Center) of our university, inviting the New Taipei City Government Department of Education and the National Taiwan
Science Education Center. We cordially invite education bureaus of all counties and cities to assist in organizing the event, and to inform affiliated public and private high schools, junior high schools, and elementary schools with interested teachers and students to participate in this activity.
IV. The results of the Taiwanese contestants who qualified for the 2025 Fall City/Regional Semi-finals of the IVY CUP International Public Speaking Competition have been announced on the competition website
(https://reurl.cc/Nxmjjp). Participating schools' relevant teachers and students can check the results online. This year, Taiwanese contestants performed brilliantly. We request that all schools reward students, supervising teachers, and relevant administrative personnel who brought honor to Taiwan in accordance with the relevant regulations for participating in international competitions.
V. The Asia-Pacific Finals will be held during the summer of 2026. The first stage of registration for the 2025 Fall Semi-final qualifiers was opened on March 12, 2026.
VI. To assist interested high schools (vocational), junior high schools, elementary schools (including kindergartens), or teachers and students in understanding the participation methods and activity content, we are holding a training workshop for teachers to guide students in participating in international performance competitions and public speaking enhancement (online training), on a first-come, first-served basis:
(1) First session: March 25, 2026 (Wednesday), 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (Course Code: 5536019).
(2) Second session: March 27, 2026 (Friday), 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM (Course Code: 5536042).

VII. This event is also implemented in conjunction with the Science and Popular Science Professional English Proficiency Competition, Professional English (Japanese) Proficiency Competition, and various county and city English Elite Cup activities, as per the implementation plan regulations. These activities are jointly organized by the Department of Industrial Education (Technical and Vocational Education Research and Development Center) of our university, the National Taiwan Science Education Center, the New Taipei City Government Department of Education, the Taoyuan City Government Department of Education, the Hsinchu City Government Department of Education, the Taichung City Government Department of Education, the Yunlin County Government Department of Education, and the Global Learning and Assessment Development (GLAD) Center.
Specifically, "The champion student of each group (high school/vocational, junior high, elementary) in the finals may register for the Global Audition of the IVY CUP International Public Speaking Competition (Fall or Spring session of the same year, 2026 or 2027) free of charge (please attach a certificate or relevant materials upon registration). Failure to register will be considered a waiver." (Our university's Department of Industrial Education will arrange for the relevant units to handle the exemption of registration fees for the champion students). High school/vocational students must meet the eligibility requirements for high school/vocational students when registering.

七、本活動並配合本校工業教育系(技術職業教育研究發展中
心)與國立臺灣科學教育館、新北市政府教育局、桃園市政
府教育局、新竹市政府教育處、臺中市政府教育局、雲林
縣政府教育處及全球學習與測評發展中心 (Global
Learning and Assessment Development, GLAD)共同合作
辦理之科學與科普專業英文能力大賽、專業英(日)文能力
大賽與各縣市政府英文菁英盃活動中之實施計畫規定，略
以：「高中職、國中小各組決賽冠軍學生，得免費報名參
加同屆(2026或2027年) IVY CUP常春藤國際口語大賽全球
海選秋季賽或春季賽乙次(報名時請檢附獎狀或相關資
料)，未報名者視同棄權。」(由本校工業教育系請相關單
位處理冠軍同學免報名費用)，高中職組選手報名參賽時，
需具高中職生資格。
