Description:
I. The Taoyuan City Government (hereinafter referred to as "the Government") hereby establishes these Guidelines to enhance the academic competitiveness of indigenous youth in the city, assist them with further education, and reduce the financial burden on parents by subsidizing the costs of attending academic tutoring classes.
II. The subsidies under these Guidelines are for indigenous students who have been registered residents of the city for more than four months and are enrolled in public (or private) junior high schools or high schools (vocational schools). The subsidies cover expenses for attending accredited tutoring classes (excluding talent classes) between September 1st of the preceding year and August 31st of the current year, prior to the application date.
III. The applicant for the subsidies under these Guidelines shall be the student's legal representative, guardian, or actual caregiver.
IV. A maximum of two individuals per household may receive subsidies. Priority will be given to low-income or middle-low-income households registered with the Government's Social Affairs Bureau for the current year. Each individual will receive an annual subsidy of NT$8,000. For those who are not low-income or middle-low-income households, the annual subsidy will be NT$5,000 per person.
V. Subsidies under these Guidelines are provided once annually. Eligible applicants will be subsidized according to their priority and the subsidized amount. If the tuition fee is less than the subsidized amount, the actual amount paid will be subsidized. Subsidies will be issued in order of priority and the date of receipt of the application by the Government's Indigenous Peoples Commission until the budget is exhausted.
VI. Applicants shall submit their application materials to their school for preliminary review between September 1st and September 30th of the current year.
The receiving school shall compile the application documents and submit them, along with the "List of Applying Students," to the Government's Indigenous Peoples Commission for review and approval by October 5th of the current year.
VII. The documents required for the subsidy application are as follows:
(1) Application form.
(2) Certificate of tutoring class attendance and receipt.
(3) Receipt and a copy of the front page of the post office or bank account.
(4) Certificate of enrollment issued by the school.
(5) Certificate of low-income or middle-low-income status issued by the district office (exempt for those not classified as low-income or middle-low-income).
VIII. If the same project applies for subsidies from more than one agency, the full scope of funding and the items and amounts applied for from each agency must be listed. Any concealment or falsification will result in the revocation of the subsidy and the recovery of disbursed funds.
Individuals receiving subsidies are responsible for the truthfulness of the payment facts and the authenticity of the submitted expense vouchers based on the principle of good faith; any falsehood will be subject to legal liability.
IX. The expenses required for these Guidelines shall be funded by the annual budget of the Government's Indigenous Peoples Commission.
