Description:
I. From July 13th to July 19th, 115, our city will host the 66th National Elementary and Junior High School Science Exhibition at National Central University. This exhibition will incorporate resources from industry, government, and academia to present a Science Education Expo. The series of activities includes a mobile science car, a science theme pavilion, science demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and interactive booths, emphasizing learning by doing and learning through play. It highlights the scientific, engaging, and diverse development of the national science exhibition, allowing visitors to get up close with research achievements from various fields, aligning with the spirit of exploration encouraged by the 12-year basic education curriculum. This year also marks the centenary of rocket launches, and will include related space science topics. We welcome teachers, students, and the general public from all levels of schools to experience and engage with science.
II. The event schedule is detailed in Attachment 1, and the descriptions of each activity are as follows:
(I) Science Education Expo: Outstanding units from within and outside the city will be invited to set up diverse and rich science booths for participants to learn and engage in interactive challenges.
(II) Theme Pavilion: Featuring the latest in space science, national defense, technology, STEAM, art, and more, allowing close contact with display equipment.
(III) Hands-on Workshop Area: Workshops will be held daily during the event, allowing participants to personally engage with science and experience the joy of scientific exploration.
(IV) Master's Talk: Professor Sun Wei-hsin will be the keynote speaker, offering insights into the current state of international space science development.
(V) Science Exhibition Guidance Teacher Exchange Workshop: Experienced and award-winning guidance teachers from our city will be invited to share their expertise.
(VI) Science Exhibition Project Display and Visit: Visitors can view outstanding projects from various counties and cities across the nation, sparking new ideas.
III. To promote science education and enhance the knowledge of teachers and students, free shuttle buses will be available daily during the event to pick up and drop off teachers and students from schools to the venue. Schools can plan early and coordinate with their summer camps, clubs, or summer remedial classes. The principle for departure is a minimum of 20 participants per school, but remote schools or those with fewer participants are exempt from this restriction. The shuttle bus schedule is detailed in Attachment 2.
IV. Regarding the application for the free shuttle bus service to pick up and drop off at schools, our city will issue a separate notice to convene an information session. We encourage all schools to actively register and participate. Detailed information will be provided during the session.
