Description:
1. In accordance with the National Oceanic Research Institute's letter No. 1150001927 dated March 27, 115.
2. The competition applies NODASS platform ocean data to encourage and cultivate high school and university students, as well as teacher training students, to solve problems using scientific knowledge, while also promoting teamwork to address ocean issues and nurture future ocean talent.
3. The details of this competition are summarized as follows:
(1) This competition is divided into 2 groups: the university group (including master's/doctoral students, in-service students, and teacher training students) and the high school group (including general high schools, vocational high schools, and technical high schools). Participating students can cross schools or departments, and each person can only join one team.
(2) The project topic is determined by the participating team and must be inspired by the NODASS platform. The proposed topic must cover at least one of the following areas: marine biology, marine science, marine geology, marine geophysics, marine physics, marine chemistry, air-sea interaction, marine ecology, marine conservation, coastal monitoring, marine engineering, etc. Integration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related issues is also encouraged.
(3) For the preliminary round, participants only need to submit a proposal of no more than 500 words and a NODASS graphic creation. The National Oceanic Research Institute provides reference data and image descriptions (https://reurl.cc/bDKEzM). Participants should select the data they wish to present and express their creative concepts through images. Additionally, examples of ocean issue ideas based on the National Oceanic Research Institute's datasets are provided (https://reurl.cc/yYVnWl) to help participants better understand and find inspiration.
4. Interested participants can register and submit their entries online from April 15 to June 7, 115, via the event website: https://sites.google.com/view/nodassbigdata/index.
5. The National Oceanic Research Institute will host two information sessions (conducted simultaneously in-person and online), including a live demonstration of the NODASS database platform, sharing of experiences from last year's winning teams, and a tour of key laboratories. Anyone interested in this event can register for free.
(1) First session: April 14, 115 (Thursday) 13:30-16:00, Room 213, Department of Geosciences, National Taiwan University (No. 1, Section 4, Roosevelt Road, Taipei City).
(2) Second session: May 21, 115 (Tuesday) 09:30-12:30, Classroom MA3040, College of Marine Sciences, National Sun Yat-sen University (No. 70, Lianhai Road, Gushan District, Kaohsiung City).

行),包含NODASS資料庫平台實機操作、去年得獎團隊經
驗分享及關鍵實驗室參觀等,只要是對本活動有興趣的大
眾都能免費報名參加。
