To help young people gain a deeper understanding of industry trends and career paths, the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch of the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, today (17th) joined hands with the senior students of the Power Mechanical Engineering Department of Taipei Tech Affiliated Taoyuan Agricultural and Industrial Senior High School to visit Qide Machinery Lifting Engineering Co., Ltd. The visit aimed to guide young people in understanding the current development of the heavy engineering industry and the application of equipment technology, strengthening students' self-exploration of their professional interests and future directions. The Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch promotes the "Jia Taole Youth Enterprise Internship Program" and has recently been actively collaborating with universities and vocational high schools. Through off-campus workplace visits and enterprise internship activities, young people can personally experience the real industrial environment during their studies. The Power Mechanical Engineering Department at Taipei Tech Affiliated Taoyuan Agricultural and Industrial Senior High School focuses on industrial heavy machinery. This visit was specifically arranged to Qide Heavy Machinery. Under the guidance of professional personnel, students observed lifting operations up close. Engineers and crane operators explained heavy machinery maintenance, smart monitoring system applications, and operational safety essentials in an easy-to-understand manner, while also sharing their career journeys from apprentices to professional technicians over more than a decade. Through on-site interaction, students not only gained a clearer picture of employment in the machinery industry but also experienced how "book knowledge" is transformed into "practical skills" in the workplace, fostering more concrete imagination and confidence in their future academic and career paths.
Students from the Power Mechanical Engineering Department at Taipei Tech Affiliated Taoyuan Agricultural and Industrial Senior High School expressed that this company visit allowed them to witness the operation of heavy lifting equipment weighing tens of tons for the first time, feeling the application of classroom principles in actual engineering and gaining a better understanding of the importance of professional skills and safety awareness. Director Hu Guohong pointed out that company visit activities can effectively bridge the gap between learning and application, allowing students to understand the real needs of the industry for technology and attitude at the front lines, and thus adjust their learning direction and future plans. Lai Jiare, Director of the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Branch, emphasized that the branch, through the "Jia Taole Youth Enterprise Internship Program," collaborates with multiple schools and enterprises to organize company visits and internship activities, encouraging young people to enter the industrial field and understand career directions. This year, a total of 12 company visits and internship activities were held, with 473 participants, 122 cooperating enterprises, nearly 900 job openings developed, and over 450 young people successfully matched for internships and employment. Among them, 380 went to key industries such as smart machinery, precision health, and IC design. These practical experiences allow young people to understand workplace operations in advance, clarify their development directions, and enhance their employment competitiveness.
