The Department of Chemistry, National Taiwan Normal University, is organizing the preliminary selection examination for the "Republic of China's participation in the 59th International Chemistry Olympiad in 2027." Please acknowledge and inform your students.

Description:
I. The Ministry of Education has commissioned the Department of Chemistry at National Taiwan Normal University to organize the national team to participate in the 59th International Chemistry Olympiad in 2027.

II. Eligibility for the preliminary examination registration (those who meet the following conditions may freely register with their current school):

(1) Born on or after July 1, 2007 (under 20 years old).
(2) Possess an R.O.C. identity card.
(3) Be a student currently enrolled in a senior high school in our country.
(4) Junior high school students who register, in addition to meeting the above conditions (1) and (2), must be students currently enrolled in a junior high school in our country, and have been admitted to and completed the selection and training camp for the Junior High School Science Olympiad (proof must be attached at the time of registration).
國國民中學學校在學學生，並錄取國中科奧選訓營且完
成選訓 (須於報名時檢附證明)。
(5) Students participating in non-school-based experimental education at the senior high school level who have not yet obtained formal enrollment may register through the competent authorities of their respective municipalities or counties.
籍之學生，得經由各該直轄市、縣（市）主管機關報名。
(6) If the eligibility is not met during registration, and it is verified to be true, the registration and participation qualifications will be canceled.

III. The national preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on November 14, 2026 (Saturday) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The examination time is 2 hours. The scope of the test is based on the content of high school chemistry. Students taking the exam must bring their identification documents.

IV. Registration is to be done through the student's current school. On-site registration is not accepted, and late registrations will not be processed. For registration procedures, please visit the official website (

V. Registration period is from September 15, 2026, 9:00 AM to October 12, 2026, 5:00 PM.

The national examination will be held simultaneously in 10 examination zones, as follows: Taipei Zone: Jian Guo High School and NTNU Gongguan Campus, Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Zone: Wu Ling High School, Taichung-Changhua-Nantou Zone: Taichung First High School, Yunlin-Chiayi Zone: Chiayi High School, Tainan Zone: Tainan First High School, Kaohsiung Zone: Kaohsiung High School, Yilan Zone: Yilan High School, Hualien Zone: Hualien High School, Penghu Zone: Magong High School.

中一中、雲嘉考區：嘉義高中、臺南考區：臺南一中、高

VII. Students whose preliminary examination scores are in the top 30% will be awarded a certificate of excellent performance.
