Regarding the "Implementation of Self-Inspection and Guidance on Safety Rules for Science Fair Exhibits and Ethical Review Process for Human Research Projects," it will be piloted for 2 years starting from the 67th Science Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Science Fair) of this city. Please be informed.

Description:
1. In accordance with the resolution of the 66th National Taiwan Science Education Center (hereinafter referred to as the Science Education Center) Elementary and Secondary School Science Exhibition County and City Briefing Session on January 8, 115.
2. To coordinate with the city's science exhibition schedule and the Science Education Center's pilot process, the following new pilot measures will be implemented in the city starting from the 67th session in 116:
(1) Science Exhibition Project Submission Form (Attachment 1): Emphasizing the spirit of self-inspection of safety regulations before research, participating teachers and students shall fill out the "Science Exhibition Project Submission Form" (for each school's reference).
(2) List of School Science Exhibition Projects Involving Human Research (Attachment 2): Each school shall review the "Science Exhibition Project Submission Form." If any research subject involves human participants, the "List of School Science Exhibition Projects Involving Human Research" shall be submitted to the bureau by September 18, 115 (Friday), for subsequent expert review to determine if it is human research that can be exempted from IRB review. If the review result indicates that it requires review, the participating team must submit it for review before conducting the science exhibition research, in order to comply with the relevant safety review regulations for science exhibitions.
(3) Certificate of Special Research Project (Attachment 3): To understand the content and scope of assistance provided by universities and colleges (professional institutions) in the science exhibition project, as well as the actual participation and contribution of the authors, a certificate from a professional laboratory is required and must be submitted during registration.
(4) Letter of Consent for Guidance (Attachment 4): Considering the increasing trend of high school and below students conducting special research in professional laboratories of universities and colleges, in order to cultivate correct scientific research ethics and awareness of research ethics, relevant guidance consent should be obtained before research and submitted during registration.
(5) The Science Education Center has provided relevant information and is continuously updating it on the official website's Science Exhibition Information Management System special zone (Homepage > National Elementary and Secondary School Science Exhibition > Document Download). Please refer to it for:
1. Promotional materials related to science exhibition research ethics.
2. Self-inspection reference materials for the "Science Exhibition Project Submission Form."
3. List of recommended experts and scholars in the field of human research in Taiwan.
4. List of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) for human research in Taiwan.
5. Sample forms such as the informed consent form for human subjects.
3. After the promotion, this project will be piloted for 2 years starting from the 67th Science Exhibition. The Science Education Center will make rolling revisions based on the pilot progress of each county and city.
後始得進行科展研究，以符合科展安審相關規定。
(三)專題研究作品證明書（附件3）：為瞭解大專校院（專業
機構）在科展計畫中協助的內容與工作範圍，以及作者
實際參與貢獻，須取得專業實驗室證明，並於報名時繳
交。
(四)指導同意書（附件4）：考量高中及以下學生進入大專校
院專業實驗室進行專題研究現況日盛，為培養正確科學
研究道德觀念及研究倫理意識，應於研究前先取得相關
指導同意，並於報名時繳交。
(五)科教館業提供相關資料並陸續建置於官網科展資訊管理
系統專區（首頁＞全國中小學科學展覽會＞文件下
載），請自行參考：
１、科展研究倫理相關宣導資料。
２、「科展作品提報表」相關自我檢核參考資料。
３、國內人類研究領域專家學者推薦名單。
４、國內人體類研究倫理審查會（以下簡稱IRB）名單。
５、人類受試者知情同意書範本等表件。
三、本案於宣導後，將自第67屆科展起試辦2年，科教館並將依
各縣市試辦歷程狀況滾動修正。
